Local Moves 

Local moves are charged on a travel time. The hourly rate includes the truck moving team, and basic packing material. 1st Choice also provides extra optional materials and packing services.

•Movers charge for labor, travel time and material. 

•Labor: You pay an hourly rate for each member of the moving crew, clock from the time they reach the job until they end at your new address. An extra charge may be applied for multiple stops. 

 •Trucks: A truck is also charged by the hour. Keep in mind that you need a truck intended to move household supplies, not to move freight.

•Travel time: This charge covers the mover's cost for traveling from the pickup location to the purpose, and returning to his services from the destination after the move is complete.

 •Materials: This is the cost of boxes, tape and other elective packing materials provided by the mover during the move. 1st Choice provides FREE padded blankets with all moves to ensure the safety of your goods.

•Packing: This is an hourly or per item rate that is charged to provide non-compulsory full or partial packing services.

Be thoughtful of children and pets. Make arrangements with friends or relations so they don't get in the way or disturb over the commotion. 

Retain these items in your possession: cash, jewelry, coin and stamp collections, prescription, and any other valuables. You must inform us of any high value list you want us to move.

Arrange to move yourself: your plants, cleaning fluids, gas tanks, paints, these items could spill and ruin the furniture or packed boxes. Some items are not transportable at all on interstate moves. Consult with our transport specialist. 

Be sure to do a last walk through, inside and outside. Make sure all things are loaded at origin and check the truck to make sure all is unloaded. 

Clean your refrigerator out and let dry overnight. 

Claims? Call to report any property damage at the time it occur and note all damage on contract. A claim form must be filed with our company and then repairs are instigated. You or your representative must be present at packing, loading, and unloading.
